African American Legends such as musicians Louis Armstrong, Muddy Waters, Sam Cooke, Nat King Cole, Mahailia Jackson, boxers Joe Louis, Jack Johnson writers Lorraine Hansberry, Richard Wright and the activist Ida B. Wells called Bronzeville home.
