Bronzeville Migratory Bird Tour

The Great Migration of African American workers from the South to the Bronzeville community adjacent to IIT Main Campus took place 100 years ago, thus writing a whole new chapter in our collective history. But did you know that many species of birds from the South also follow that same migratory path? Discover and experience this astonishing parallel by joining The Bronzeville Historical Society for its free “Bronzeville Earth Day/Migratory Bird Tour” and Earth Day Celebration from 9 a.m.–noon on Saturday, April 4, 2015. Seeds for African Heritage Garden will be started celebrating Earth Day.

The tour starts and ends at the Stephen A. Douglas Tomb and Memorial, 636 East 35th Street in Chicago. RSVP is appreciated but not required via an email tobronzevillehistoricalsociety@gmail.com.
