In a flood of mass produced fashion, it takes guts to look different. While some of us intentionally create a distinctive personal style others are deemed as different because their appearance does not fit the mainstream. Join the discussion with panelists that takes us beyond personal style, connecting us to our intimate and complex identities that we uncover through what we wear, both past and present. The panel speakers include Halima Bahri, Arab American Action Network; Kathleen McDonald, Mitchell Museum of American Indian; and Sherry Williams, Bronzeville Historical Society. Our moderator is Yolanda Perdomo, WBEZ.
The program will take place at 1st Floor Garland Room at the Chicago Cultural Center.
